The Cavaliers are relocating the G League’s Canton Charge to downtown Cleveland, according to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic.
Per Lloyd, the Charge will now play home games at the Wolstein Center on the Cleveland State University campus. An official announcement on the move is expected Wednesday.
The Charge began as the Huntsville Flight in 2001, before becoming the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in 2005. The franchise became the Cavs affiliate in 2011 and has been located in Canton since, playing home games at Canton Memorial Civic Center.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Charge have not played in Canton since the 2019-20 season, which ended up being cancelled.
