Cavs Signing Ex-Lake High Star Chandler Vaudrin

The Cavaliers are signing former Uniontown Lake (Ohio) High School standout Chandler Vaudrin to an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, sources told Hoops Wire.Chandler Vaudrin

They are also signing forward Jamorko Pickett to a similiar deal, per Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor.

Vaudrin, 25, is a 6-foot-7 point guard. He began his college career at Walsh University in Canton (also nicknamed the Cavaliers), before transferring to Winthrop, where he was eventually named Big South Player of the Year.

He actually signed a deal with the Cavs on July 29, 2021, to play for their Summer League team — but suffered a torn ACL in a summer game vs. the Pelicans.

Pickett, 24, is 6-9 and went undrafted out of Georgetown in 2021. He appeared in 13 games with the Pistons last season after signing a two-way deal in September 2021. He split his time with the Motor City Cruise of the G League.

An Exhibit 10 contract counts toward the offseason roster of 20, but not toward the regular-season roster unless the player is signed to a standard deal.

The Cavs will hold their annual media day Sept. 26 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, followed by training camp the next day. They open the season on the road Oct. 19 vs. the Raptors.
