Clippers power forward Serge Ibaka underwent back surgery on Friday and will miss the remainder of the playoffs, the team announced.
Ibaka, 31, had been experiencing back issues most of the season and had missed the last two weeks because of it.
As an aside, this is likely to impact the $9.7 million player option on his contract for the upcoming offseason. Ibaka may have turned down the option had he remained healthy, but given the status of his back, picking it up may be the wiser move.
Ibaka, 31, averaged 11.1 points and 6.7 points in 41 games this season.
