Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland, Pistons forward Saddiq Bey and Spurs guard/forward Keldon Johnson have been promoted to play for Team USA during upcoming exhibitions ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Garland, Bey and Johnson had each been practicing and scrimmaging with the Select Team that is helping prepare Team USA for the Games.
Those three will fill in for Suns guard Devin Booker and Bucks forward Khris Middleton and point guard Jrue Holiday, all of whom are competing in the Finals. Booker, Middleton ad Holiday will join Team USA once the Finals ends.
Along Garland, Bey and Johnson, Rockets small forward Cameron Reynolds, veteran point guard Josh Magette, and shooting guards John Jenkins and Dakota Mathias are other Select Team members who be with Team USA for exhibition play.
The U.S. faces coach Mike Brown and Nigeria on Saturday, followed by Australia on Monday and Argentina on Tuesday.
