Lighty, 33, is currently playing for French club ASVEL and averaging 11.3 points and 2.8 rebounds.
Lighty is 6-foot-6 ad played for Cleveland Villa Angela St. Joseph High before embarking on a four-year career at Ohio State (2006-11). He went undrafted by the NBA, but attended training camp with the Hawks in 2013 and played for the Pelicans’ summer team in 2016.
His entire pro career has come overseas, with Lighty playoing professionally either in Italy or France. But it appears Greece could soon be in the mix.
As Aris Barkas of EuroHoops noted, “If Lighty ends up signing with Olympiacos, he will find a number of familiar faces on the roster. The Reds have already signed Livio Jean-Charles from ASVEL last summer and they have also a deal with Moustapha Fall, who is currently a teammate of Lighty in France.”
Lighty signed a two-year deal with AVSEL in 2017, then extended the contract to 2024 last summer.
