Hawks point guard and leading scorer Trae Young is questionable for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals with a bone bruise in his right foot, the team said in a statement.
Young underwent an MRI on Monday after suffering the injury in Sunday’s Game 3 home loss to the Bucks. Milwaukee leads the series, 2-1.
Young turned his ankle after accidentally stepping on referee Sean Wright’s foot late in the third quarter.
“It’s sore right now,” he told reporters after the game. “… It’s hurting a little bit and it’s sore. I got some treatment on it. I’m going to go get some more in the morning. That’s all I can do right now, is to get treatment.”
Young, 22, is averaging 29.8 points and 9.5 assists in his first postseason (15 games). He scored 48 points and passed for 11 assists in Game 1, the Hawks’ first win in the conference finals since moving from St. Louis ahead of the 1968-69 season.
Game 4 is set for Tuesday night in Atlanta.
