The Heat, Knicks and Spurs have an interest in Warriors small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. ahead of free agency, according to Drew Schiller of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Oubre, 25, is 6-foot-7 and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Knicks are in search of a small forward with rage, per Marc Berman of the New York Post, and Oubre fits the “3-and-D” mold and could come at the right price.
“The Knicks, who are in need of more reliable shooters who can spread the floor, could have roughly $60 million in salary cap space this offseason as they look to shore up the situation at point guard and elsewhere,” Berman wrote.
Oubre averaged 15.4 points and 6.0 rebounds in 55 regular-season games, but struggled from the perimeter, shooting just 31 percent on 3-pointers.
“Oubre averaged 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals over a 29-game stretch from early February to early April, while shooting 47.7 percent overall and 37.4 percent from beyond the arc,” Schiller wrote.
He also hit just 69 percent of his free throws, his worst mark since making 63 percent his rookie season of 2015-16.
“Warriors president Bob Myers said Oubre is part of the long-term plans. But the swingman will entertain offers, as he knows he’ll be on the bench with Klay Thompson’s anticipated return,” Berman wrote.
