Lakers’ Kostas Antetokounmpo Headed To Greece

Lakers forward/center Kostas Antetokounmpo has agreed to a five-year contract with Greek club Olympiacos, according to FOS Online, via Ennio Terrasi Borghesan of Sportando.Kostas Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo, 23, is 6-foot-10 and appeared in just 15 games with the Lakers while playing on a two-way contract. It marked his second season with the organization after being claimed off waivers from the Mavericks.

The younger brother of Bucks forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Kostas was originally drafted by the 76ers with the 60th and final pick in the 2018 draft, then immediately traded to the Mavericks.

He has also played with the Texas Legends and South Bay Lakers, compiling G League career averages of 12.3 points and 6.9 rebounds.

Antetokounmpo is a native of Greece and has been an active participant on the Greek National Team, for which he is currently competing in the Olympic qualifying tournament.
