Harden had been upgraded from “out” to “doubtful” with the series tied at 2-all and Tuesday’s game set for Brooklyn. The Nets have already ruled out Kyrie Irving with a sprained right ankle.
Harden played the first 43 seconds of Game 1 vs. the Bucks before reaggravating his hamstring. He hasn’t played since.
Nets coach Steve Nash said Monday that Harden was progressing, but offered no timetable for a return. Without Harden and Irving, only Kevin Durant is a sure bet for the Nets’ Big Three entering Game 5.
“I picture me doing everything out there just like I do every night,” Durant told reporters. “Some more than others, I might have to handle the ball more, might have to post up more, just gotta be prepared to do everything out there, just like any night.”
Harden, 31, is averaging 23.2 points, 8.8 assists and 6.1 rebounds in six playoff games.
