G League Ignite point guard Daishen Nix and multiple other draft prospects worked out for the Pistons on Friday, according to veteran NBA reporter Keith Smith.
Joining Nix, per Smith: Pittsburgh’s Justin Champagnie, Toledo’s Spencer Littleson, UC Santa Barbara’s Jaquori McLaughlin, Florida State’s M.J. Walker and Seton Hall forward/center Sandro Mamukelashvili.
Of all the prospects, Nix ranks highest on the ESPN Draft Board at No. 55 overall. Nix is 6-foot-5 and averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 assists, primarily coming off the bench in 15 games this past season.
“Fluid ball handler who operates at different speeds well. Has outstanding body control and pace,” ESPN wrote. “Can power through defenders with his strong frame, using long strides, polished footwork and impressive creativity as a finisher.”
The Pistons have the second-best odds to win Tuesday’s draft lottery, but the players they worked out ranged from likely second-round picks to going undrafted.
They also own the Nos. 37, 42 and 52 picks overall.
