Mannion and Italy will join the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Serbia and the Dominican Republic in trying to qualify for the 2021 Summer Games in Tokyo at the end of July.
Mannion is coming off his first NBA season after the Warriors selected him in the second round (No. 48 overall) of the 2020 draft. He appeared in 30 games as a rookie, averaging 4.1 points and 2.3 assists.
He also spent time with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League bubble, where he averaged 19.3 points, 6.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds.
Mannion is the son of former NBA small forward Pace Mannion.
