Hall of Famer Toni Kukoc recently told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson that Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon is his best center of all time.
Kukoc, who won three championships with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen on the Chicago Bulls, raved about Olajuwon’s fundamentals.
“To me, Hakeem is the best center of all time,” Kukoc said. “He shows you all these moves. He shows pretty much every fundamental of basketball imaginable.”
Olajuwon averaged 21.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 3.1 blocks in 1,238 games with the Rockets and Toronto Raptors. He made 12 All-Star teams, 12 All-NBA teams and nine All-Defensive teams.
Olajuwon won one MVP, two Defensive Player of the Year Awards and two Finals MVPs. The Hall of Famer led the Rockets to back-to-back championships in 1994 and 1995.
Olajuwon, Jordan and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the only players in NBA history to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.
