Rumor: Bradley Beal Wasn’t Interested In Playing For Lakers, Who Pursued Him

Bradley Beal wasn’t interested in playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, who pursued him, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. 

Beal plans to sign a two-year, $11 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Phoenix Suns and Beal agreed to a buyout. 

Beal appeared in 53 games for the Suns last season. He averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.7% from the field, 38.6% from beyond the arc and 80.3% from the free-throw line. 

Beal has played in 801 games with the Washington Wizards and Suns. He has career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in seven games. They acquired John Collins from the Utah Jazz and traded Norman Powell to the Miami Heat this offseason. 

The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2025 postseason in five games. They signed Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia this summer. 

Phoenix traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and six draft picks. Mike Budenholzer was fired as head coach after just one season and replaced by Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott.
