Trade Proposal Sends Dejounte Murray And Bogdan Bogdanovic To Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins And Kevon Looney To Hawks

One NBA analyst proposed that the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors make a trade with each other this offseason. 

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Hawks and Warriors:

The trade: The Golden State Warriors trade Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney and 2026 first-round pick (top-five-protected) to the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray and Bogdan Bogdanović

The Hawks and Warriors missed the playoffs this year. 

“Golden State needs more athleticism, point-of-attack defense and shooting on the perimeter, and this deal would deliver all three,” Buckley wrote. “Murray is a former All-Defensive honoree who just had the best shooting season of his career (2.6 threes per outing with a 36.3 percent splash rate). Bogdanović makes things happen on or off the ball, and he processes the game at a high enough level to enjoy a seamless fit in this system.

“The Warriors and Hawks would both need to trim their payrolls first to make this allowable under the collective bargaining agreement, but it’s easy to imagine both picturing a big enough reward here to willingly jump through those hoops.”

Murray averaged 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 45.9% from the field, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 79.4% from the free-throw line. He’s one of the top two-way players in the NBA. 

Bogdanovic averaged 16.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 42.8% overall, 37.4% from 3 and 92.1% from the foul line. He’s one of the best shooters in the NBA. 

Kuminga averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 52.9% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 74.6% from the free-throw line. The rising star turns 22 next season. 

Wiggins averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 45.3% overall, 35.8% from 3 and 75.1% from the foul line. A source told Hoops Wire that the Warriors are open to trading the NBA champion this offseason. 

Finally, Looney averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 59.7% from the field and 67.5% from the foul line. He could be cut this offseason to save the Warriors some money.
