NBA Commissioner Adam Silver Addresses Luka Doncic Trade
The NBA world was stunned when Luka Doncic was traded to the Lakers, and Commissioner Adam Silver was no exception. Speaking at his annual All-Star Weekend press conference, Silver revealed he had no advance notice of the blockbuster deal.
While the Mavericks have faced heavy criticism — especially from their own fans — Silver defended their decision-making.
“I can say one thing for sure: Whether or not history will ultimately judge this as a smart trade, they did what they thought was in the best interest of their organization,” Silver told NBA reporters. “Time will tell whether it was a smart trade. But they should believe in their organization.”
Kyrie Finds Stability in Dallas After Turbulent Career
After difficult exits from Boston and Brooklyn, Kyrie Irving appears to have found peace in Dallas. The veteran guard, now an All-Star replacement for Anthony Davis, has flourished with the Mavericks, averaging 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists through 44 games this season.
“I’m definitely having a lot more fun, and I think it comes from understanding the big picture here while I’m in the league,” Irving said. “My journey has not been perfect, but I’ve been able to make sense of it, take accountability for my decisions, and move forward.”
Ben Simmons Impresses in Clippers Debut
In case you missed it, Ben Simmons made an immediate impact in his Clippers debut, tallying 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals in a win over Utah. His teammates, including Nicolas Batum, praised his performance.
“That’s why he was the No. 1 pick, that’s why he was an All-Star in the NBA,” Batum said. “He just needs the right system, the right person to get his confidence back. I think he came to the right spot to get it.”
