Report: Hawks Actively Exploring Trade Market For Bogdan Bogdanovic

According to veteran NBA insider Marc Stein, the Atlanta Hawks are actively exploring the trade market for small forward Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Bogdanovic is making 17.3 million this season.

“League sources say that the Hawks have begun actively exploring the trade market for their own perimeter specialist: Bogdan Bogdanovic,” Stein wrote. “Bogdanovic has not shot the ball anywhere close to his usual standards this season at 37.1% from the field and 30.1% from deep. Yet he still has fans around the league and has to be monitored closely given the credible whispers this week that he could be on the move. Any interested team has to be comfortable with the contractual realities on Bogdanovic: The 32-year-old has one guaranteed year left on his contract at $16 million in 2025-26 before a $16 million team option (rather than player option) in 2026-27.”

Bogdanovic is averaging 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks this season for the Hawks while shooting 37.1% from the field, 30.1% from beyond the arc and 88.2% from the free-throw line.

The Hawks are 22-25. They are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Bogdanovic has played for the Sacramento Kings and Hawks. He has career NBA averages of 14.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks.

Bogdanovic signed a four-year, $68 million extension with the Hawks in 2023. It will be fascinating to see if the Hawks trade the swingman, who doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Phoenix Suns shooting guard Bradley Beal are the only two players in the NBA with no-trade clauses.
