Report: Bradley Beal Would Waive No-Trade Clause To Join Clippers, Heat, Lakers, Nuggets

According to NBA insider John Gambadoro, Bradley Beal would waive his no-trade clause to join the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers or Denver Nuggets.

The Phoenix Suns are interested in acquiring Jimmy Butler (who has requested a trade) from the Heat.

However, Miami is not interested in acquiring Beal, who is making $50.2 million this season.

Butler has a $52 million player option for next season. He’s making $48.8 million this season.

The Suns will bring Beal off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers. That could make him upset and push him to waive his no-trade clause.

“I do think what’s happening now in Phoenix is worth keeping an eye on because let’s face it, for any Bradley Beal deal, he’s not coming here [Miami], but I know for a fact there’s 3- and 4-way combinations in play with Bradley Beal,” NBA insider Ira Winderman, who covers the Heat, said. “He has to waive his no-trade clause. Well, what’s a good way to have a player want to waive his no-trade clause? Bench him. Play him off the bench behind a player he clearly doesn’t believe is better than him. So I think a lot of these wheels are starting to turn.”

Beal is averaging 17.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 48.0% from the field, 39.2% from beyond the arc and 76.0% from the free-throw line. He has a plus-minus of -137.

The Suns are 15-18 on the season. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings despite having Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, three of the most talented scorers in the NBA.

A three-time All-Star, Beal has career averages of 21.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Washington Wizards and Suns.
