Westbrook is one of the most charitable players in NBA history. The future Hall of Famer, who has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Lakers and Clippers, has done charity work in every city he’s lived in.
A nine-time All-Star, Westbrook has appeared in 57 games for the Clippers this season. He’s averaging 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks while shooting 45.1% from the field, 26.8% from beyond the arc and 67.2% from the free-throw line.
Westbrook has a plus-minus of +55 in 2023-24. He has seven double-doubles.
The Clippers are 37-20. They are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. With Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Paul George leading the way, LAC looks like a legitimate title contender.
The 2016-17 MVP, Westbrook has career averages of 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.3 blocks. He’s the NBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles.
Westbrook signed a two-year, $7.9 million contract with the Clippers last summer in free agency. The UCLA product is making $3.8 million this season. He has a player option worth $4 million for next season.
It will be fascinating to see if Westbrook wins a championship before he retires from the NBA. Westbrook has been to the Finals once. The Thunder lost the 2012 Finals to the Miami Heat in five games.
