Moore, a Charlotte native, played high school basketball at Cox Mill in Concord, N.C., where he won back-to-back state championships before heading to Duke for three seasons. Now, he returns home to continue his NBA journey.

The 22-year-old forward started the season with the Detroit Pistons, appearing in 20 games and averaging 3.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He was waived on February 6 as Detroit made roster adjustments ahead of the trade deadline. Originally drafted 26th overall by the Mavericks in 2022, Moore spent his first two NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves before joining Detroit.

With Charlotte in rebuild mode, Moore could have an opportunity to prove himself and earn more playing time. His defensive versatility and ability to contribute on both ends of the floor make him a promising addition to the roster.

Meanwhile, Wong, who was let go to make room for Moore, appeared in 20 games for the Hornets this season, averaging 6.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. The NBA is all about opportunity, and Moore now has a chance to showcase his skills with his hometown team as Charlotte continues to evaluate young talent for the future.
