LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh played on Team USA in 2008 and became teammates on the Miami Heat in 2010.

“There will probably something that comes out of it,” Haliburton said, via Oshkosh Northwestern. “I definitely got recruited, but I’m not going anywhere. … I recruited every guy on that team basically. Anyone that wants to come join us in Indiana, I’m all for it.”

Team USA won the gold medal behind the stellar play of LeBron, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

The Americans defeated France in the gold medal game.

“It’s fun being around those guys and you create lifelong relationships and lifelong friendships,” Haliburton said. “Me and Steph were texting the other day and that’s unbelievable for me because that’s a guy I looked up to when I was in middle school. To have that as a real relationship now I think is really cool.”

This year’s Team USA squad featured Haliburton, LeBron, Curry, Durant, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday

Steve Kerr was the head coach. His assistants were Mark Few, Tyronn Lue and Erik Spoelstra.

Haliburton is one of the top players in the NBA. He averaged 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.7 blocks for the Pacers last season while shooting 47.7% from the field, 36.4% from beyond the arc and 85.5% from the free-throw line.

The Pacers reached the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They lost to the Boston Celtics in four games.

Haliburton only played in Games 1 and 2 of the Celtics series due to a hamstring injury.

“The biggest thing I took from them (Team USA) is just how serious they are about their routines,” Haliburton said. “Just seeing how routine they are, just how they treat their bodies and how they’re able to do what they do at such a high level at their age.”
