According to NBA reporter Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, no teams are interested in trading for Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson.
Clarkson will make $14.3 million next season in the final year of his contract.
“Clarkson, meanwhile, needs a bounceback season after really struggling with his efficiency last year,” Larsen wrote. “As of now, there haven’t been any other interested NBA teams in trading for his services.”
The Jazz went 31-51 this past season. They missed the playoffs for the second straight year.
Clarkson averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 41.3% from the field, 29.4% from beyond the arc and 88.1% from the free-throw line in 55 games.
The 32-year-old Clarkson has career averages of 16.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz. He won the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year Award with Utah.
NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported in June that Clarkson and Collin Sexton could be available on the trade market.
“There’s also a belief from rival executives who spoke with HoopsHype that guards Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson could become available on the trade market,” Scotto wrote.
Jazz star Lauri Markkanen becomes extension eligible on August 6. He’s on an expiring $18 million contract and due for an extensivelong-term raise.
Markkanen is one of the top players in the NBA. He averaged 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 48.0% from the field, 39.9% from beyond the arc and 89.9% from the free-throw line in 55 games.
Markkanen has career averages of 18.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Chicago Bulls, Cavaliers and Jazz. He won the 2022-23 Most Improved Player of the Year Award with Utah.
The Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs remain in pursuit of Markkanen, sources told Hoops Wire. The entire NBA world is waiting to see what happens with Markkanen.
