NBA superstar Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers lost a lot of weight this offseason.
Some people think Dončić took Ozempic, but the five-time All-Star says he didn’t.

Dončić transformed his body this summer by going on a gluten-free, low-sugar diet, according to Men’s Health. He has also gone on an intermittent fasting plan designed to limit inflammation and help his body recover better.
The Lakers are expected to sign Dončić to an extension this weekend. Dončić recruited Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart to Los Angeles after Ayton was bought out by the Portland Trail Blazers and Smart was bought out by the Washington Wizards.
Los Angeles also signed Jake LaRavia, who was recruited by Austin Reaves.
Dončić averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28 games with the Lakers last season. The future Hall of Famer put up 30.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game in the 2025 playoffs, where Los Angeles lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round in five games.
The Dallas Mavericks traded Dončić because they had concerns about his diet, weight and injury history. Dončić suffered several calf injuries with the Mavericks, who acquired Anthony Davis and Max Christie from the Lakers in the blockbuster Luka deal.
Dončić enters next season with career averages of 28.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists with the Mavericks and Lakers. He’s third in NBA history in points per game.
The Mavericks traded a generational talent because they thought he didn’t take his body seriously. Dončić looks skinnier and stronger this summer. Dallas may have motivated the 26-year-old to change his diet and exercise routine.
