The Magic have signed forward Alex Morales to an Exhibit 10 contract, the team announced in a press release.
Playing for Wagner College, Morales was a two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year award winner, averaging 15.9 points (45.4% FG), 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals throughout his collegiate career.
Despite going undrafted, Morales, 25, had an impressive 2022 Summer League stint with the Golden State Warriors, and as a result, was able to land an Exhibit 10 deal with the Magic last season.
Morales, 6-foot-6, played 30 games for the Lakeland Magic (now Osceola) of the G League during the 2022-2023 season, averaging 6.5 points (47.1% FG), 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals.
To note, this year’s Exhibit 10 contract can potentially be turned into a two-way deal, as the Magic’s roster has one two-way open slot left.
Otherwise, Morales can receive a bonus worth up to $75,000 if he is waived before the season starts, as long as he plays the required 60 days for the G league affiliate in the 2023-24 season.
