The Heat acquired Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets in the Kyle Lowry trade. The veteran guard is averaging 12.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 10 games with Miami while shooting 35.9% from the field, 23.4% from beyond the arc and 95.8% from the free-throw line.
The Heat are 4-6 with Rozier in the lineup. They are 28-25 overall on the season, good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. If the season ended today, Miami would be in the play-in tournament for the second year in a row.
A Louisville product, Rozier is averaging 20.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists with the Hornets and Heat this season while shooting 44.0% overall, 33.7% from 3 and 86.3% from the foul line. He’s making $23.2 million.
The Heat will be without Rozier, Josh Richardson and Jimmy Butler for a while. Richardson has a dislocated shoulder and Butler is away from the team due to a death in the family.
Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo will have to play at a very high level for the Heat to win games while Rozier, Richardson and Butler are out.
