Report: LeBron James to miss another week with groin injury

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN, Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James will miss another week with his groin injury.

LeBron injured his left groin against the Boston Celtics.

LeBron is averaging 25.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists this season for the Lakers while shooting 51.7% from the field, 38.4% from beyond the arc and 77.0% from the free-throw line. He’s the oldest player in the NBA.

The leading scorer of all time, LeBron must return from his groin injury by April 3 to extend his All-NBA streak to 21 straight seasons.

A future Hall of Famer, LeBron is the only player in NBA history to rank top five all-time in points and assists, the only player to win three Finals MVPs with three different teams, the only player with 40,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 career assists and the only player to score 50,000 points combining the regular season and playoffs.

LeBron, who grew up idolizing Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan, is first in NBA history in points, fourth in assists, sixth in steals, second in field goals, seventh in 3-point field goals, fifth in triple-doubles, seventh in points per game and third in player efficiency rating.

The first overall pick in the 2003 draft, LeBron recently said he’s happy the Lakers acquired Markieff Morris from the Dallas Mavericks in the Luka Doncic trade.

LeBron and Morris helped the Lakers win the 2020 championship against the Miami Heat at the Walt Disney World bubble in six games.

“I missed him,” LeBron told NBA reporter Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times. “We’ve been in the foxhole together. We’ve been on the floor during big games together. And there’s someone whose opinion I value very much when I come off the floor. He’s watching it. He’s seeing it. I’m just happy to have him back. It’s great to see him.”
