NBA Trade Idea: Timberwolves Acquire Anthony Black, Hawks Acquire Rob Dillingham, Jazz Acquire Kobe Bufkin, Bones Hyland

An NBA trade involving the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz has been created.

NBA writer Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Timberwolves, Magic, Hawks and Jazz:

Minnesota Timberwolves get: Anthony Black

Atlanta Hawks get: Rob Dillingham, 2031 second-round pick from Timberwolves, $4.5 million trade exception

Utah Jazz get: Kobe Bufkin, Bones Hyland, $1.1 million from Magic

Orlando Magic get: 2026 protected first-round pick from Hawks, 2028 second-round pick from Jazz, $8 million trade exception

“The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the strongest rosters in the NBA. But after back-to-back Western Conference Finals appearances, the team faces a significant concern,” Pincus wrote. “Veteran point guard Mike Conley will turn 38 before the start of the season. How can the franchise, hampered by a heavy payroll, find a younger replacement?

“The answer may be found in a complex, multi-team trade idea involving a 21-year-old, former No. 6 pick from the Orlando Magic. Rope in the Atlanta Hawks, and then the Utah Jazz for some flexibility, and the following four-team concept makes sense.”

For the Magic last season, Black averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists. The 21-year-old will make $7.9 million next season.

For the Timberwolves last season, Dillingham averaged 4.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. The 20-year-old will make $6.6 million next season.

Hyland played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Timberwolves last season. He averaged 6.2 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. The 24-year-old is on a two-way contract.

Bufkin only played in 10 games for the Hawks last season due to a shoulder injury. He averaged 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The 21-year-old will make $4.5 million next season.
