An NBA trade proposal where the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Norman Powell from the Los Angeles Clippers has been created.
Here’s the mock trade between the Cavaliers, Clippers and Chicago Bulls:
Cavaliers receive: Norman Powell
Clippers receive: Nikola Vucevic
Bulls receive: Caris LeVert, 2026 second-round pick (via Cleveland), 2028 second-round pick (via Cleveland), 2031 second-round pick (via Los Angeles)
Powell appeared in 76 games for the Clippers last season. He averaged 13.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 48.6% from the field, 43.5% from beyond the arc and 83.1% from the free-throw line.
A UCLA product, Powell has career averages of 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers and Clippers. He’ll make $19.2 million next season.
Powell helped the Raptors win the 2019 NBA title against the Golden State Warriors. He has appeared in 84 postseason games, carrying averages of 9.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks.
The Cavaliers went 48-34 last season. They beat the Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs in seven games but lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round in five games.
Cleveland fired JB Bickerstaff as head coach this offseason and hired Kenny Atkinson, who signed a five-year deal. Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley signed extensions with the Cavaliers and Darius Garland wasn’t traded despite multiple teams trying to acquire the point guard.
The Cavaliers only have two new players on the team, JT Thor and rookie Jaylon Tyson.
In this trade proposal, Cleveland would lose LeVert, who will make $16.6 million next season in the final year of his deal.
LeVert averaged 14.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.5 blocks for the Cavaliers last season in 68 games while shooting 42.1% from the field, 32.5% from beyond the arc and 76.6% from the foul line.
LeVert has career averages of 14.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers and Cavaliers.

Come on man.. can we keep a home state guy?
Hoopswire, or the Cavs, or some beat writers somewhere, aiming for a LeVert trade. The guy who’s stepped up and been the reason we’ve won games at times. The Celtics know who he is. Where’s our memory? Where’s the acknowledgment.
Meanwhile Ty Jerome has already earned the X-Factor label because he played over 5 minutes in two victories. It was two, correct?
Quite blasphemish.
