According to NBA insider Matt Moore of The Action Network, the Orlando Magic are willing to offer Klay Thompson or Kentavious Caldwell-Pope big money deals.
Thompson is an unrestricted free agent, while Caldwell-Pope is expected to decline his 2024-25 player option and enter free agency.
“League sources suggest the Magic are willing to offer the Warriors’ Thompson or Caldwell-Pope short-term, big money deals starting at two years, $50 million,” Moore wrote. “The Magic are clearly looking for offensive boosts after having a bottom-10 unit.”
Caldwell-Pope averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks in 2023-24 for the Denver Nuggets while shooting 46.0% from the field, 40.6% from beyond the arc and 89.4% from the foul line.
Meanwhile, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Golden State Warriors while shooting 43.2% from the field, 38.7% from beyond the arc and 92.7% from the free-throw line.
