The Warriors added Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and De’Anthony Melton after losing Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks.

“Curry, Green and the Warriors have struck a balance as to how involved the stars want to be in the organization’s decisions,” Andrews wrote. “Sources told ESPN that neither Curry nor Green want to be ‘final decision-makers’ in regard to roster moves or transactions. But they do want to be consulted.”

The Warriors missed the playoffs in 2024 after losing the 9-10 play-in game to the Sacramento Kings.

Curry, Green and Thompson won four championships together.

“Curry and Green will be the first to say it feels weird that Thompson is gone,” Andrews wrote. “Ahead of Team USA’s run at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Curry told Andscape he hasn’t ‘figured out the emotions yet,’ while Green told ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth during summer league that he has been ‘suppressing my emotions.’ However, both stars say they are excited about the moves Golden State has made so far this summer, sources said.”

The greatest shooter in NBA history, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 2023-24 while shooting 45.0% from the field, 40.8% from beyond the arc and 92.3% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors can sign Curry to a one-year, $62.6 million extension this offseason. Curry signed a four-year, $215 million extension with the Warriors in August 2021. He’ll make $55.8 million next season and $59.6 million in 2025-26.

A future Hall of Famer, Curry is currently set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason of 2026.

Green has three years and $77.7 million left on the four-year deal he signed with the Warriors in 2023. The final season in 2026-27 is a player option worth $27.7 million.

One of the top defenders in NBA history, Green averaged 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks this past season while shooting 49.7% from the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 73.0% from the free-throw line.
