Stephen Curry Sounds Like A Guy Who Knows Warriors Got Al Horford

The Golden State Warriors are interested in signing NBA veteran Al Horford, who is an unrestricted free agent and will not re-sign with the Boston Celtics.

Playing golf at this year’s American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Stephen Curry sounds like a guy who knows Horford will be his teammate next season.

Horford played in 60 games for the Celtics last season. He averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 42.3% overall, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 89.5% from the foul line.

The 39-year-old Horford has played for the Atlanta Hawks, Celtics (twice), Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Florida product and five-time All-Star has career averages of 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Horford entered the NBA in 2007 with the Hawks. He was the third overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Curry and the Warriors beat Horford and the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Horford and Boston reached the promised land in 2024, beating the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals in five games.

Last season, Golden State lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the playoffs in five games. Curry suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 of the Minnesota series and never returned to action.

The Warriors haven’t made a move in free agency yet. They are dealing with Jonathan Kuminga‘s restricted free agency. Kuminga has been heavily linked to the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.
