The Phoenix Suns have made it official. As expected, the Suns have ruled Chris Paul out of Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets with a groin strain, according to various reports, including ESPN.
The move merely confirms what we’ve known for several days: namely that the Suns will be extremely lucky if Paul returns to play in time to have any impact upon the outcome of the series.
The Nuggets lead the best-of-seven series two games to none.
On May 2, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Paul will miss at least a week after an MRI revealed a groin injury. Paul was expected to miss both Games 3 and 4 in Phoenix and could also miss Game 5, should the Suns push the series that far without him.
