One NBA analyst proposed a three-team trade idea between the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following mock trade between the Cavaliers, Lakers and Nets:
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: F Cam Johnson, G Austin Reaves, F Rui Hachimura
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: PG Darius Garland, G/F Caris LeVert
Brooklyn Nets Receive: PG D’Angelo Russell, SG Jalen Hood-Schifino, F/C Christian Wood, 2029 first-round pick via Lakers
Johnson appeared in 58 games for the Nets in 2023-24. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 44.6% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the free-throw line. The NBA sharpshooter will make $23.6 million next season.
Reaves averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Lakers in 2023-24 while shooting 48.6% from the field, 36.7% from beyond the arc and 85.3% from the free-throw line. He played in all 82 games. Reaves an undrafted NBA player, will make $12.9 million next season.
Hachimura averaged 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks for the Lakers in 2023-24 while shooting 53.7% from the field, 42.2% from beyond the arc and 73.9% from the free-throw line in 68 games. He’ll make $17 million next season.
Garland averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.1 blocks for the Cavaliers in 2023-24 in 57 games while shooting 44.6% from the field, 37.1% from beyond the arc and 83.4% from the free-throw line. He’ll make $36.7 million next season.
Garland, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group).
LeVert averaged 14.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.5 blocks for the Cavaliers in 2023-24 while shooting 42.1% from the field, 32.5% from beyond the arc and 76.6% from the free-throw line in 68 games. The NBA forward $16.6 million next season.
Russell averaged 18.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks in 2023-24 for the Lakers in 76 games while shooting 45.6% from the field, 41.5% from beyond the arc and 82.8% from the free-throw line. The one-time NBA All-Star will make $18.8 million next season.
Finally, Wood averaged 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.7 blocks for the Lakers in 2023-24 while shooting 46.6% from the field, 30.7% from beyond the arc and 70.2% from the free-throw line in 50 games. The big man will make $3 million next season.

I think I’d just take the 3 players and the pick. Cameron Johnson is nice player but being over rated. He isn’t someone that would lift Cavs to title.
