The Golden State Warriors announced that point guard Stephen Curry has been cleared to resume on-court workouts. The NBA legend sprained his right ankle on March 7 against the Chicago Bulls.
Curry will start his individual workouts in the Bay Area before rejoining the Warriors for group practice in Los Angeles on Friday (3/15).
The Warriors face the Los Angeles Lakers on March 16.

Curry has appeared in 59 games this season. He’s averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 44.9% from the field, 40.7% from beyond the arc and 92.0% from the free-throw line.
Curry is ninth in the NBA in points, ninth in points per game and first in 3-point field goals.
The Warriors are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 34-30. Golden State would face the Lakers in the 9-10 play-in tournament game if the season ended today.
The Lakers beat the Warriors in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. Golden State also lost a play-in game to Los Angeles in 2021.
After the Warriors lost to the Bulls, Klay Thompson spoke about Curry’s injury. Golden is 4-1 this season without Curry in the lineup.
“He had his ankle wrap on,” Thompson said. “Icing his ankle. I know we’re going to miss him … if he does have time off. We’ve been in this position before where he has had time off and we have to do it collectively. I know he’ll be ready to go when he does come back.”
The Warriors face the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow (3/13). The Dubs are a game behind the Lakers in the Western Conference standings.
