As expected, 76ers guard Matisse Thybulle has been downgraded to “out” for Game 3 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the Raptors, per the NBA official injury report.
Thybulle is unvaccinated and American citizens cannot cross the border without having received the vaccine for COVID-19, and vice versa. Per reports, he is the lone player ineligible to cross the border in the series.
The 76ers won both games at home, where Thybulle averaged 4.0 points and offered his usual strong defense on the perimeter. Coach Doc Rivers said the 76ers are prepared to cover Thybulle’s absence.
“We just have to,” Rivers told reporters. “We have a plan and we just have to. We don’t have him.”
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST. NBA TV is scheduled for the broadcast.
