Cavs Going For Sweep, And They’ve Done It Every Time When Up 3-0

It’s only a matter of when and how. The Cavaliers’ series vs. the Heat, according to Cleveland history, is over.Donovan Mitchell, Cavaliers, Cavs, Heat, NBA

It’s also over according to NBA history. After all, no one has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit.

Against the Cavs, that stat is even more intense. The Cavs have taken 3-0 leads 10 times since the NBA went to a best-of-seven first-round format in 2003. They’ve won Game 4 every time to complete the sweep.

In other words, if there’s a Game 5 in their series against Miami, it will be a first. At least, it would be for the Cavs.

Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. for Game 4 in Miami.

As of this writing, All-Star point guard Darius Garland remains questionable with a sprained big toe. He was a game-time decision for Game 3. But his absence didn’t impact the Cavs, who were dyn-o-mite in hammering the Heat on Saturday afternoon.

“When you have them on the ropes, you gotta put them away and you don’t wanna give them light, so Game 4 is gonna be really important for us,” Cavs guard Ty Jerome said.
