Adadolu Efes is coming off back-to-back Euroleague championships and Final Four MVP Vasilije Micic was a major reason why.
Now, it appears Micic will make his way to the NBA, according to Stefan Djordjevic of Eurohoops. There is definitely no shortage of NBA interest in Micic, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard.
If he does come, the Thunder would be the odds-on favorite to land him.
“Oklahoma City acquired the rights to Micic in the same December 2020 deal in which it landed Al Horford from Philadelphia,” wrote Marc Stein of The Stein Line. “The Thunder indeed also acquired a future first-round pick (2025) in the same trade. I’m told there is already NBA interest in Vasilije Micic, 28, for next season.”
Micic, however, will have a say in where he goes next — or more specifically, where he will play if he comes to the NBA. If he doesn’t want to play for a specific NBA team, he could always stay in Europe. Or he could make it known and a trade for his rights could take place.
Either way, by all accounts, he is ready to see how his game fits in the NBA, and the NBA is ready to find out as well. As Djordjevic wrote, Efes is already looking for replacements.
