Cavaliers Won’t Trade Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to keep Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. 

The Cavaliers were the No. 1 seed in the East this year. They swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round in five games.

Garland made his second All-Star team last season. He averaged 20.6 points and 6.7 assists during the regular season and 18.0 points and 5.2 assists in the playoffs. 

Meanwhile, Allen appeared in all 82 games for the Cavaliers last season. He averaged 13.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks in the regular season and 13.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks in the postseason. 

The Cavaliers haven’t advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 2018. 

Garland had surgery on June 9 to repair the left big toe injury that troubled him during the 2025 playoffs and is expected to miss four to five months. He could miss the first 10 to 15 games of next season. 

The 25-year-old Garland has career averages of 18.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists with the Cavaliers. He was the fifth overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Allen has played for the Brooklyn Nets and Cavaliers. The 27-year-old has career averages of 12.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.2 blocks.
