Hopes are high for Cavaliers two-way man Nae’Qwan Tomlin. And not just from the Cavaliers themselves. Fans also seem to really believe in his upside.

According to an SB Nation poll, Tomlin has been the most impressive of all Cavs in the Las Vegas Summer League, which concludes Saturday.

And he has indeed looked good, scoring inside and out and doing a decent job protecting the basket. Tomlin could help the Cavs as soon as this season, coach Kenny Atkinson suggested.

“Tomlin led all players in offensive rebounds and averaged close to 20 points per game during his first four games in Vegas,” wrote Fear The Sword’s Tony Pesta. “His on-ball creation really popped in his first two performances, where Tomlin scored a combined 52 points on insane efficiency.”

As for the poll, Tomlin topped Jaylon Tyson, second-round pick Tyrese Proctor and Cleveland State product Tristan Enaruna, who has a shot at a two-way deal with the Cavs.

“Tomlin took home roughly 2/3rds of the vote as Jaylon Tyson landed as a distant runner-up,” Pesta wrote. “Tyrese Proctor likely would have performed better in this poll if it were posted after his 35-point game. Ah, well.”

Tomlin, 24, appeared in five games with the Cavs last season, averaging 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. He was fantastic with the G League’s Cleveland Charge.
