The Grizzlies are signing undrafted Louisiana Tech power forward Kenneth Lofton Jr. to a two-way contract, agent Mike George told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Lofton is 6-foot-7 and 275 pounds, and averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 33 games this past season as a sophomore. He was named first-team All-Conference USA at the end of the year.
The Grizzlies had an incredibly active night in Thursday’s NBA Draft, trading for the No. 19 overall pick and the rights to Wake Forest forward Jake LaRavia, then shipping guard De’Anthony Melton to the 76ers for guard Danny Green and the draft rights to Colorado State forward David Roddy, the No. 23 pick.
The fun continued in the second round, when they took Tennessee point guard Kennedy Chandler at No. 38, followed by VCU guard/forward Vince Williams at No. 48. Chandler had been pegged by many to be drafted in the first round.
