Undrafted Houston forward Fabian White Jr. is signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Lakers, he told Mark Berman of Fox 26.
White, 23, is 6-foot-8 and spent five seasons at Houston, missing his fourth year with a torn ACL. He bounced back to average 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in 38 games in 2021-22.
“It means everything,” he told Berman. “All the work I’ve put in has paid off. (Dealing with) the torn ACL, all the sprints I had to run, it all paid off.”
An Exhibit 10 contract is a contract that counts toward the offseason roster limit of 20, but does not count toward the salary cap unless the player makes the team.
All NBA contracts can be finalized once the new league year begins next week. The Las Vegas summer league tips off July 7.
