Spencer Dinwiddie has found his next stop overseas.

The veteran guard has officially signed with Bayern Munich, the German club announced. The deal does not include an NBA out clause, meaning Dinwiddie is locked in for the season.

An 11-year NBA veteran, Dinwiddie joined the Hornets on a one-year, guaranteed deal over the summer but was waived last week as Charlotte trimmed its roster to meet the 15-man limit.

He had drawn interest from multiple EuroLeague teams, including Olympiacos, before choosing Bayern.

Dinwiddie, 32, spent last season with the Mavericks, where he stepped into a larger role following injuries to Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum. He averaged 11.0 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 27 minutes across 79 games, shooting 42 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.

Bayern competes in both the EuroLeague and Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga, where it has claimed back-to-back domestic titles. The team fell just short of the EuroLeague playoffs last season, finishing 19-15 and losing to Real Madrid in the play-in round.

Now, Dinwiddie heads to Europe with a chance to lead another contender — and maybe bring a little NBA flash to one of the continent’s most successful clubs.
