Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent surgery for a stress fracture in his right foot and will miss four-to-six months, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Grizzlies confirmed the news in a press release.
That timeline puts Jackson on track to return for the start of the season, but it could also mean he misses some games.
Per the Grizzlies’ release:
“Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent a successful procedure yesterday to address a stress fracture in his right foot. Jackson Jr. will be sidelined approximately 4-6 months and is expected to make a full recovery. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Jackson, 22, is 6-foot-11 and averaged 16.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 78 games last season, shooting 41 percent from the field.
The Grizzlies finished with the second-best record in the Western Conference, advancing to the second round of the playoffs before falling to the eventual champion Warriors.
