Another day, another hypothetical trade involving Anthony Davis.

This time, Bleacher Report cooked up a three-team proposal that would send the Mavericks big man to his hometown Bulls, with the Nets also involved.

Here’s how the mock deal stacks up:

Mavericks get:
Tre Jones, Zach Collins, Kevin Huerter, a 2026 protected first-round pick, Portland’s protected 2026 first via Chicago, and a series of trade exceptions.

Bulls get:
Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin, Dante Exum, Jalen Wilson, and an $8 million trade exception.

Nets get:
Dalen Terry, Jevon Carter, the rights to Melvin Ajinça, plus second-rounders in 2029 and 2030.

As for reality, rival teams already expect Dallas to explore Davis trades after firing GM Nico Harrison. Davis has appeared in just 14 games since last season’s blockbuster Luka Doncic deal and has dealt with injuries throughout the early part of this year.

League sources also told Dallas Hoops Journal that teams interested in Davis want to see him drop weight. He reported to training camp at 268 pounds, roughly 15 more than his final listed weight with the Lakers last season.

Clubs believe he needs to regain his usual mobility to justify a major in-season move.

Davis is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 52 percent from the field. He is in Year 1 of a three-year, $175 million contract and has a player option for 2027-28 worth $62.8 million.

The Mavericks are expected to work with Davis’ agent Rich Paul as they determine next steps.

Multiple teams have interest, but for now, all of this remains theoretical — including Bleacher Report’s proposed path to bring the Chicago native home.
