The Spurs have agreed to a one-year contract with center/forward Gorgui Dieng, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Dieng, 32, is 6-foot-10 and has been in the NBA for nine years, most recently with the Hawks. Last season, he appeared in 44 games, compiling averages of 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds.
He has also spent time with the Grizzlies and Timberwolves, and even appeared in 16 games with the Spurs in 2020-21.
Dieng will be San Antonio’s 14th player, assuming the team signs all three of its first-round picks and retains Tre Jones and Keita Bates-Diop, both of whom are on non-guaranteed contracts,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
As Adams went on to note, the Spurs still have gobs of cap space available, setting themselves up for a larger trade or signing if they so desire. It could lead to a significant shakeup before next season.
