The Lakers are signing center Thomas Bryant to a one-year contract for the veteran’s minimum, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Bryant was drafted by the Lakers in 2018, and played a minor role during his first stint in LA. He spent the previous four seasons with the Wizards.
Per Haynes, he will get the chance to start for the Lakers this time around.
The Raptors, Celtics, Bucks and Jazz also had him on their radar, Haynes reported.
He suffered a torn ACL in 2020-21 but bounced back to appear in 27 games this year.
The Lakers have spent the offseason trying to fill around the margins with younger players — having also signed Juan Tuscano-Anderson, Troy Brown Jr., Damion Jones and Lonnie Walker IV since the start of free agency.
