Despite the recent buzz, the Hawks are drawing a firm line when it comes to Zaccharie Risacher.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Hawks officials have “pushed back hard” on the notion that Risacher would be included in any trade talks with the Mavericks involving Anthony Davis.
Dallas is known to be seeking young talent and expiring contracts, but Atlanta remains bullish on Risacher’s long-term upside, particularly after a strong second half last season.
At the same time, Atlanta appears more open than ever to discussing Trae Young — though the market isn’t exactly huge.
Amick reports that Young’s trade market has yet to meaningfully develop, with one rival scout bluntly stating that Young is “an extremely difficult player to win at the highest level with.”
Because of that, league insiders believe the Hawks may ultimately have to wait until summer to resolve the Young situation.
Whatever the case, the Hawks should try to figure it out here soon. They’ve been spinning their wheels for about five or six years now.
