The circle around Trae Young continues to grow.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Bucks, Timberwolves, and Clippers are all monitoring Young’s situation with the Hawks. Atlanta and Young are working together in an effort to find a trade, though nothing appears close.

The Wizards have already held discussions with Atlanta on a framework that would center on CJ McCollum and his expiring contract. Other teams are doing background work as well.

Scotto notes that Milwaukee has been searching for offensive help around Giannis Antetokounmpo, Minnesota has been surveying the market for a long-term point guard solution, and the Clippers are weighing their future with James Harden as his contract situation approaches another decision point.

Extension talks between Young and Atlanta have stalled, and sources previously told Hoops Wire that the Hawks began gathering trade intel as far back as last offseason. Young is earning $45.9 million this season and holds a $48.9 million player option for 2026-27. He has no no-trade clause.

On the court, the results have been uneven. Young is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists, but Atlanta is just 2-8 in games he has played. Around the league, there is a growing expectation that a deal eventually gets done.
