Former NBA forward Lamar Odom’s latest legal trouble now has paperwork to match the headlines.

Court documents obtained by Hoops Wire lay out the early-morning traffic stop that led to Odom’s DUI arrest in Las Vegas.

According to the report, a Nevada Highway Patrol officer spotted a Dodge Durango speeding along I-15 around 2 a.m. on January 17, estimating the vehicle at roughly 90 miles per hour.

As the trooper tried to catch up, the SUV allegedly accelerated, with the officer pushing past 100 miles per hour in pursuit. Backup was called. Sirens were activated.

None of it appeared to register with the driver, who reportedly continued speeding, changed lanes without signaling, then signaled both directions without actually moving.

The vehicle eventually pulled over near Spring Mountain Road.

The officer identified Odom as the driver, accompanied by an unidentified passenger. The report describes bloodshot, watery eyes and a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

Odom reportedly said he was speeding because he was on the phone with his manager and close to home.

Field sobriety tests did not go well. Odom was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center around 3 a.m. on charges including DUI, driving more than 40 miles per hour over the limit, and unsafe lane changes.

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 17.
