Timberwolves
The Timberwolves are among the more aggressive teams exploring a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Charania reported Milwaukee’s star is “ready for a new home,” with the Bucks more open than ever to hearing offers.
Minnesota’s issue is simple. Interest is real, but the ammo is limited.
The Wolves do not control any tradable first-round picks, so any package would need to be heavy on players. Anthony Edwards is untouchable, which means a theoretical framework likely starts with Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo.
Good players. Real contributors. Not exactly franchise centerpieces.
And per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Milwaukee may be leaning toward a draft-heavy return anyway.
“They have to prioritize the draft,” Windhorst said. “Their future is going to be tied to the draft.”
In other words, Minnesota can call. But it may not have what Milwaukee wants.
Warriors
Stephen Curry says he stays informed, but not overly involved, when it comes to Golden State’s trade pursuits, per Nick Friedell of The Athletic.
“I don’t ever get into hypotheticals,” Curry said. “It’s a waste of time. Mike and the front office are making calls. If there’s something real, we talk about it.”
Basically, Curry trusts Mike Dunleavy Jr. to handle the heavy lifting. No second-guessing. No armchair GM routine.
Cavaliers
The raised floor at Rocket Arena is back in the spotlight after Luka Doncic slipped off the sideline and tweaked his lower left leg in the Cavs’ win over the Lakers on Wednesday.
Lakers coach JJ Redick did not mince words.
“It is absolutely a safety hazard,” Redick said. “I don’t know why it’s still like that.”
This is not new. After Dru Smith suffered a season-ending ACL injury in 2023, Miami previously flagged concerns about the gap between the Cavs’ court and arena floor.
The league has heard complaints before. The question now is whether it feels the need to act.
