Knicks small forward Cam Reddish responded to a comment on Instagram claiming that he has “requested” a trade by writing, “Y’all be trippin.”
The user comment was clearly the result of a report that Reddish was seeking a trade. But it should be noted that the report never once suggested Reddish “requested” a trade. It only said he’s hoping for one.
There is a big difference there in the language in the original report and the word selected by the Instagram user.
Basically, Reddish only denied requesting a trade. He didn’t deny wanting out.

Either way, as we wrote earlier, Reddish has been linked to the Lakers, dating back to February — and as recently as last week. The Lakers are believed to be interested, as Marc Berman of the New York Post reported.
There is also talk that Reddish could be part of a three-team deal also involving the Lakers and Jazz. Reddish is a Rich Paul client, as are Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Does Reddish want to be traded? We don’t know that with any degree of certainty. But as far as we can tell, he hasn’t officially requested one.
